From October 29 to 31, 2025, the Research Center for Intelligent Medical Devices of Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) and the Sewerage Engineering Division jointly organized the Taiwan International Water Week (TIWW) at the Nangang Exhibition Center. The event concluded successfully, attracting numerous industry partners and academic representatives for vibrant exchanges and collaboration.
With the theme “Smart Water Environment and Sustainable Cities,” the MCUT team presented a range of innovative research outcomes. Among the highlights was the laser anti-slip manhole cover technology, jointly developed by the Research Center for Intelligent Medical Devices and the engineering team. By applying high-power laser processing to form fine surface textures on metal, the technology effectively enhances friction and reduces slipping risks—demonstrating the potential of smart manufacturing in public safety applications.
In addition, the Research Center for Intelligent Medical Devices showcased its smart healthcare solutions, integrating sensing, data analytics, and automation technologies to enable efficient and low-carbon healthcare management.
Ming Chi University of Technology will continue to strengthen its collaboration with the Sewerage Engineering Division, promoting the integration of smart water management, smart healthcare, and sustainable urban development. Together, they aim to inject new innovation momentum into the future of cities—creating safer, healthier, and smarter living environments.
